A lino printing tuturial.

Here is a link to a great Lino Printing Tutorial (for absolute beginners). http://www.lemonlight.org/weblog/2008/02/lino-printing-t.html This blog is great. She is a wicked photographer too.

Experiment printing with the lino stamps - pretty pleasing

Having written-off acrylic, I've been using coloured ink pads (pretty easy to find). I dab the ink onto the lino then turn and press down onto the paper really hard. Strangely shinier paper seems to be best and gives a cleaner print. I had to mount the lino cuts onto wood blocks (using superglue) so that my finger prints didn't show around the edges.

some other veggie stamps...

Veggie Prints!

I've been very busy in the allotment and have made some lino stamps from my allotment sketchbook. This one is a courgette, but it's printed in yellow... to see if I could get a good dark outline.. It worked!

lino printing with acrylics... bit blotchy!

so, this is my very first attempt at lino printing. Seems to work, but I definately have used the wrong ink.. in fact, I've used paint, which isn't ink at all...
